I was born in New York City and am currently one of the youngest full-time broadcasters in the Frontier League, an MLB Partner League.
I hail from a unique, blended family; my dad and mom were married for over a decade before divorcing in 2005. My mom remarried to my now-stepmother Nyna in 2008, and my father remarried to my then-stepmother Rabbi Laurie Phillips in 2009. My father remarried to my stepmother Lol (short for Elizabeth) in 2022, and she was born in New Zealand. Growing up an only child for the first 19 years of my life, I now have a 16-year-old stepsister named Indy.
During my childhood, I wanted to become a professional baseball player and tested the limits of my memory. I memorized every World Series winner and loser in five hours when I was 12 years old and still remember these matchups today. In high school, I was very active in Model UN, Track and Field, coaching softball, playing baseball, and leading Bard High School Early College Queens to an eighth-place finish in Table Tennis in NYC. I stayed up late nearly every night to watch and scorecard more than 350 Yankees games from my sophomore year to my senior year.
I decided to play in the Israel Association of Baseball's Premier League after graduating high school in 2018. However, I changed career paths once discovering a love for broadcasting. I watched the Yankees' games and began calling them off my computer at 2 AM because of the seven-hour time difference. I also began interviewing Israeli baseball players to help with speaking on camera. Along with umpiring and coaching, I was a groundskeeper for two of the three baseball fields in Israel.
My experience in Israel allowed me to broadcast in the Tidewater Summer League in Norfolk, Virginia during the summer of 2019. The internship lasted for a month, and I was tasked with broadcasting two games a day. My love for stories allowed me to produce the Tidewater Summer League Archives, interviewing the players and coaches, such as Boston Red Sox scout Matt Young.
At the same time, I wrote for Backsportspage.com as its lead Yankees writer, producing an article about my hometown team every week. I represented the organization as a press reporter at Yankee Stadium the day after they clinched the AL East in 2019. Later on, I helped create the Exit Velo podcast where I talked about all the up-to-date action, regarding Major League baseball. Additionally, I interviewed Philadelphia Phillies' beat writer Todd Zolecki, former New York Yankee Darryl Jones, minor league pitcher Dean Peterson, and Sports Talk Chicago host Jon Zaghloul.
I continued my broadcasting career at Allegheny College where I became the Voice of the Gators. I became the first broadcaster in school history to travel with a sports team and call the games on Allegheny's radio network. I broadcasted baseball, basketball, soccer, football, field hockey, and volleyball. I also was the Sports Editor for The Campus, Allegheny's student-run newspaper from Fall 2020 to Fall 2021. I was a Special to the Meadville Tribune from Spring 2021 to Spring 2022, covering basketball, golf, and soccer for the local newspaper.
For two summers in the Northwoods League, I broadcasted with the Rockford Rivets and Duluth Huskies, respectively. I earned the 2020 Northwoods League Announcer of the Year Award-. The following season, I helped the Huskies earn the title of Broadcasting Team of the Year.
Managing college and a professional opportunity with the Double-A Erie SeaWolves in 2022, I served as the play-by-play broadcaster for the middle innings and was the color commentator for the rest of the game. When the Voice of the SeaWolves, Greg Gania, filled in for Dan Dickerson for the Detroit Tigers, I held down the fort as the sole commentator for Erie in an away game against Akron on July 22nd.
Thanks to receiving my Associate Degree of Arts from Bard Queens, I was able to graduate from Allegheny a semester early in December 2022. I went to South Africa for a three-week voice intensive course to start the new year. This course helped me improve upon my pitch, tone, and breath sustention.
Today, I am the Media Relations Coordinator/Broadcaster with the Tri-City ValleyCats and have been very involved in New York's Capital Region! I currently run their social media pages and send our e-blast out to 25,000 fans on a weekly basis. I have done reading appearances with our mascot, SouthPaw, at schools in the area, brought out more than 200 people for our 2024 Jewish Heritage Night, welcome a junior broadcaster on air every home game, attend Chamber of Commerce events, and distributed 400 Be Kind pins in honor of my late stepmother, Laurie. On the side, I have called softball and women's lacrosse on ESPN+, along with women's soccer at D1 Siena College. Additionally, I have also broadcasted men's and women's basketball at Bryant & Stratton College - Albany.
In my free time, I go to services at Congregation Gates of Heaven, building upon my faith in God, and continuing to grow spiritually. I also play at the All+ Table Tennis Academy and participate in tournaments at the Finn Chess Club.
